Derry Junior Chamber Award success for Catalyst Inc Innovation Centre Manager

Winifred McLaughlin (Past President JCI Derry) and Member Of The Year Eliza Harvey (Catalyst Inc)

We are delighted to announce that our Catalyst Inc Derry~Londonderry Innovation Centre Manager, Eliza Harvey was awarded the Past President’s Award for “Member of the year” at the Derry Junior Chamber International Awards on Saturday 23rd September.

The prestigious Past President’s award is given to the most outstanding member of year within JCI Derry, who have contributed positively to the local community and shown commitment through being an active member. Eliza is a longstanding and highly valued member of our team and we are delighted to hear of her success at the Junior Chamber Awards. On the night, the host, John Loughton Founder & CEO of social enterprise Dare2Lead, spoke of Eliza’s dedication and endless drive:

Eliza wins the Past President award as she is without question, one of the hardest working and active members of JCI in the City. As Facilities Manager she is the living Catalyst within the Catalyst Inc…

[Eliza] has jumped out of a plane, explored goldmines, single handily scaled Mount Errigal in killer fog  – in short she is JCI’s very own Hunger Games Katnis Harvey. With a permanent smile and a laugh like an insane seagull she is massively deserving of this award.”

We would like to extend our congratulations to Eliza who will now benefit from the Past President's £500 bursary which will support her in her personal development next year. Eliza will be able to attend training courses and travel to academies or conferences of her choice.
